Design Process and Procedure
Crossing the Web

Each site is started with a meeting with the client. Our goal is to, not only, create rapport with you but we also discuss all your desires and plans that you would like to see implemented, taking into consideration your intended market, site effectiveness, and if you have any branding requirements. We pride ourselves in our commitment to each site.

Next we determine page requirements with titles, how information is meant to be delivered, and the order of page layouts. Graphs and Sketch Drawings will also be created, when necessary, to determine the extent of functionality or purpose.

Now that it has been determined how the site will be laid out, the design process continues. First we take all of your content, whether from your existing site that we are redesigning or content that we received from you at the initial meeting. Usually more content will be added by this stage. Then, we come up with a color palette for the site. Most of the time the color palette will be determined by an existing logo and theme that you have been using unless it was determined in our initial meeting and functionality requirements that you want to go a different direction. With the colors and layout decided, we go to work on the digital layout construction of your new site.

By this stage an initial design is completed and an additional meeting is set-up for approval of the design. This meeting doesn't necessarily have to be done in person since we will have already put the initial design on our website for client viewing. From this point the design is either approved or not. We will do mockups until you are satisfied with the layout, colors and images. Once approved we require 50% of the quote to paid.

The site design has been approved. Now comes the cut-up, coding, and implementation. Up to this stage the site was only a design but now, at this stage, the design actually becomes a functioning site. Cut-up for buttons, flash, text, etc. take place and coding for site functionality also occurs. Once determined that the site is functioning properly we move to the next stage.
